President Asif Ali Zardari has underlined the need for highlighting the achievements of the government in various sectors during the past four years in both the print and electronic media.
He was talking to Federal Minister for Information and Broadcast Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan in Islamabad. The minister briefed the president about the working of her ministry. Various achievements of the present government include its flagship program like Benazir Income Support program, targeting poverty directly and earning recognition at international level, workers empowerment by giving them 12% shares in the state run entities, 18th constitutional amendment, NFC award, undertaking various initiatives to overcome power and energy crisis, taking the challenge of militancy head on, effectively tackling the IDPS issue and putting back the economy in the right direction despite natural calamities of unprecedented nature.
