Federal minister for commerce, Makhdoom Amin Fahim called on Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in Islamabad today.
He briefed the prime minister about his recent visit to Maldives, a SAARC member country, to attend the oath-taking ceremony of its new president. He said the government and people of Maldives are grateful to Pakistan for providing funds for the construction of its parliament building.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan welcomes Maldives' transition to democracy after the long rule of Mamoon Abdul Gayyum. Makhdoom Amin Fahim also apprised him of various matters relating to his ministry and constituency.
Other matters of national interest including overall political situation in the country also came under discussion.
