Chief Ministers Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Ameer Haider Khan Hoti called on the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani at the Prime Minister’s secretariat today before the 8th meeting of the council of common interests.  

They congratulated the Prime Minister for undertaking the visit of the brotherly Muslim country Qatar which was timely and productive. The Prime Minister said his meeting with Amir of Qatar sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani was the highlight. The Amir said, “With Prime Minister’s visit, a new chapter of relations of two countries has begun”. The Prime Minister said his Qatari counterpart was very upbeat about the absorption of Pakistani skilled manpower to contribute to build the infrastructure pertaining to the 2022 Olympic Games scheduled to be held in the country. The Prime Minister said during his meetings, he informed the Qatari leadership that poverty and illiteracy were the major root cause of extremism and terrorism and the absorption of unemployed Pakistanis in gainful employment would greatly help preventing them from falling into the trap of terrorists.
