Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has directed for an energy conference for immediate implementation of power generation projects in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pukntoonkhwa.
Chairing the council of common interests meeting Prime Minister Gilani directed speeding up work on power generation projects from sugar mills waste and the completion of transmission lines for Thar coal project. He directed advisor on finance to consult the planning and economic affairs divisions to finalize matters in this regard. The Prime Minister said, the council of common interests is an important forum for resolution of issues between the federation and the provinces. He said about forty issues have been discussed in the seven meetings of the council held so far. The meeting was attended by chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Minister Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti, advisor finance Abdul hafiz Shaikh and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
