The National Assembly has unanimously passed a bill for setting up National Commission for Women.
The bill tabled by Advisor to the Prime Minister Mustafa Nawaz Khokar was passed with certain amendments. The Commission would be independent having autonomous status with financial and administrative powers. It will examine policies‚ programmes and other measures taken by the government for women uplift. It will also review all laws‚ rules and regulations affecting rights of women.
