Wheat procurement from April 15
The purchase of wheat will commence here from April 15 as Punjab government has completed arrangements for the task. This was observed in a meeting presided over by district coordination officer Syed Ali Murtuza and attended by director food Punjab Anwar Rasheed, district food controller Chaudhary Mohammad Javed, deputy director food Chaudhary Naveed Arshid, EDO Finance Javed Iqbal and others. The district coordination officer Syed Ali Murtuza directed the officers to ensure foolproof arrangements at purchase centres. He also instructed them to inspect weigh balance installed at different purchase centres. He directed them to submitted report about distribution of bags and place lists of relevant areas within limits of particular wheat purchase centre area. Director Food Punjab Anwar Rasheed apprised the meeting that Punjab government has implemented uniform policy across the province. "A patwari would be deputed at every purchase centre and eight bags would be provided to farmers against one acre piece of land". He added that farmers would be offered 50 per cent bags in first 15 days of wheat purchase campaign and 30 per cent bag for next 15-days and 20 per cent bags for last 15 days. "Each district will get separate code and wheat produced in a district would be purchase in the centres of the same district", he explained. He also directed the DDOs to present reports about delivery of bags on daily basis and warned the officers that stringent action would be taken in case of mismanagement.
