In Karachi, at least 25 people were killed and over 50 others injured in a powerful blast took place in the front part of the main Ashura procession as it reached the Denso hall near light house. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani have strongly condemned the blast at main procession of Aushra in Karachi. 15 terrorists were killed and caches of arm and ammunition recovered as operation Rah-E-Nijat continues in South Waziristan. A number of opposition figures have been arrested in Iran, a day after violent protests in the capital left at least eight people dead. In Afghanistan, 18 people including two police personnel were killed in different incidents of violence.
